For this oral presentation, we have to discuss a future city in areas of green building, security, water and waste management, tourism and hospitality, transport, energy management and disaster relief. My group mates, Amanda Ng Wei Xuan, Sharon Lim Yu Jung, Tan Yuen Xi, Yong Seen Yee and I had chose New York City to discuss about the future development. We had held several meetings to divide our parts and do our individual researches before we could start the video shooting. In order to carry out the video shooting and oral presentation smoothly, we need to hold a lot of meetings to discuss our parts and compile it together so that our parts will be connected. On the actual day of video shooting, we had last minute rehearsal before starting the actual shoot, all of us are nervous. We had booked the library discussion room to do the recording, we prepared and started to record from different angles, after we had find the best angle, we started to do the recordings, and then we finally face the biggest problem, we keep on retake because sometimes we forgot the flow, then we forgot the scripts and so on. These problems are freaking us out, we keep on retake and retake, some scenes even need to retake for about 7 times in order to get a perfect shot. That day we take up about 6 hours to do the video shooting, it's even more tiring than the actual presentation at the lecture hall.
After the videos are finally finished recorded, I took all the footages and started editing it, compile the audios and videos together. The editing process were never fun, after 4 hours, the video is finally out and I'm very satisfied with the video, then I uploaded the video to YouTube, then copy the link to submit it to our lecturer.
The reaction was good and we feel satisfied with our own performance.
Throughout the process of the video presentation, my listening and reading skills improved a lot since there's scripts we need to read and study and we also listen to the presentation of each other and learn from mistakes, we helped each other in researching, and commented on the performance, we need comments from the others in order to let ourselves improve. The video presentation was a brand new experience for me, it's tiring but we are totally satisfied with out own performance.
