Introduction:
Business
students from all walks of life can use the write up of a business plan as a
method of exploring ideas when starting a new business. The plan is simply a
questionnaire that clarifies the possibilities
and requirements of any kind of
business that you have been thinking about. And until you ponder on these
questions, you will not be able to visualize the details necessary for the success
in your business.
a) Form
a group with a maximum of 4
members.
b) Choose
one member as the group leader.
c) Brainstorm
and discuss the nature of business that you would like to start.
d) Based
on your discussion, present your business plan in a 10-minute presentation. You are encouraged to use different
types of presentation aids to present your topic (e.g. PowerPoint, video clips,
manila posters, role-play, games, anything under the sun, etc.) as this would
help engage your audience’s attention and have positive impact on your
assessment score.
e) You
can use various information sources for your research e.g. text and non-text
books, magazines, newspapers, journals, internet, interviews and multimedia
(e.g. video clips, audio files, PowerPoint slides).
f) Avoid
(as much as possible) using technical words in your presentation; instead use simple, everyday words.
g) After
the presentation, you are to submit your presentations aids (preferably in soft copy form) for
assessment purposes.
Presentation Video:
The first assignment given for this module is Business plan presentation, Angoline, Jia Jian and me formed a group of three. We started to hold meetings to plan out the business we want to setup and finally our group had decided to start a travel agency.
Travel agency work as a service body, they are an agent, they take customers on tour and planned all the flow of journey and left customers with no worries, they helped to settled their accommodation, transportation, to get them on package tours. These are reasons why we want to start a travel agency is people nowadays know how to work hard play hard, they know how to enjoy. Travel act as a tool towards communicating with family. It can also release stress, because nowadays assignment and works are really stressful.
We had done a lot of researches in order to provide useful and logical informations during our presentation, after all the scripts and presentation slides were done, we started to rehearse. After we rehearse a few times, correcting the mistakes each other made, we called up our friends to be the first audience. They pointed out our vocabulary or grammar mistakes, gestures and tone of voice when we are presenting. These are the important mistakes that may form bad impression during the real presentation, we were really grateful for their help.
Overall, I really enjoyed working with my group members, everyone did work hard for this assignment, even though some of them faced language barrier, they still put in effort to improve their language. Me myself as a leader realized that leadership takes a really important role in developing our skills in our future career.
